This website is run by Yealmpton Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Google ReCAPTCHA: Our contact forms use Google ReCAPTCHA to prevent spam. This third-party software may trigger “false positive” errors in automated testing tools regarding hidden labels or frame titles. As this is a third-party service, we cannot modify its code, but we ensure the “Audio Challenge” remains functional.

Disproportionate burden

  • Historical Documents: Many of our older PDFs and Word documents (such as historical meeting minutes) do not meet accessibility standards. We have assessed that fixing all documents would be a disproportionate burden given the resources of the Council. We ensure all new documents are created with accessibility in mind.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

  • PDFs and other documents: The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
